This is the HARDEST THING I've ever had to do. I made this literally in 1 day.

it was made for a friend of mine, as a birthday present/Halloween costume, since he loves the comic Looking For Group.

Everything but the hood and shirt were made by hand;

Shoulders are wire foam and pleather
hood is modified slightly to show upper half of face
bracers are pleather and painted pleather
Skirt is three layers of painted pleather
vest is blue pleather
Belt is pleather
Gloves were bought but modified

Much cooler than the reference picture.

Awesome for one day! I spent more than a day in all just waiting for glue/Gesso/paint to dry/set, not to mention some of the failed experiments along the way! Heat guns aren't always the best choice for speeding up drying times.. :o

My costume was wide at the shoulders, too -- Normal doorways weren't very friendly, were they?

My poor friend ran into doorways quite a lot. Although the sound effect he made was quite funny.

I WAS using glue that was complicated and took too long to dry, then I switched to high temp hot glue. amazing stuff really...

Heat gun. I feel yer pain there.

Hopefully I can get the 2.0 version done soon so it looks WAY better than this one. :)

LOL. Video with audio would have been funny of that!

I've never tried high temp glue. This is the first project I used hot glue for more than just a quick fix. It was a little tricky to work so fast -- I had to work on little bits at a time.

me too. It's a PAIN to do big things, and I REALLY don't want to do something ENTIRELY with hot glue again. It worked this time though ^_^
